A veteran of the brewing industry with almost ten years of experience, Nate joins the Workhorse team having overseen explosive growth at the Lexington, VA-based brewery Devils Backbone, the 2014 winner of the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) Mid-Sized Brewing Company of the year. In addition to this prestigious title, Nate’s beers at DB have won 3 Gold medals at the biennial World Beer Cup, plus another 6 Gold medals at the GABF. Under Nate’s leadership, the brewery increased production from 10,000 barrels in 2012 to nearly 80,000 in 2016.
Most importantly, his commitment to quality throughout the brewing process is unparalleled, a trait he honed while earning his BS in Food Science from Virginia Tech and at the renowned Master Brewers Program at UC-Davis. A native of Virginia, Nate is no stranger to our area having cut his teeth at Victory Brewing Company, where he spent four years as a brewer and met his wife, Christine.

A Philadelphia-born entrepreneur with a passion for people, Dan is the driving force behind the Workhorse brand and is tasked with heading up our marketing and sales efforts, as well as crafting our hospitality program. Since 2008, Dan has owned and operated Philly Phaithful, a sports-centric Philadelphia apparel company with a customer-service oriented business model. If you’ve tailgated in K Lot for a Phillies or Eagles game in the last 10 years, it’s likely that you’ve purchased a shirt from Dan and shared a beer or two.
In addition to perfecting the art of the parking lot hustle, while at the helm of Philly Phaithful Dan managed all day-to-day and growth aspects of the company while developing a broad skill set that lends itself to the craft industry. Dan has a BA in American Studies from Cornell University and before Philly Phaithful, spent two years working at ESPN, primarily producing content for its flagship show, SportsCenter.

A veteran of the local startup community, Liz joins Workhorse after a six-year run at Curalate, where she took the Philly-based, marketing tech SaaS startup from zero to 1,000 clients, including major names like Urban Outfitters, Target and Nordstrom. During her tenure, she held various roles, including individual contributor, Director of New Business Sales, Director of Sales Operations, and Director of Client Success, all with a heavy focus on building processes and scaling teams. As the seventh employee at the company, which has 100+ employees and received nearly $40MM in funding, Liz has extensive experience in growth-oriented startups and will play a key role in helping Workhorse implement strategic planning, execution and management policies.
Originally from the Western part of the state, we are happy to look past hockey allegiances and are thrilled to have her tenacious work ethic on our side. Liz is a 2011 graduate of the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, graduating with University Honors. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in the spring of 2011 with a focus in Marketing and Entrepreneurship.

A Philly native and lover of beer, soccer, and music, Mark comes to Workhorse with a wealth of industry knowledge and experience.
Mark started his career with Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser Beer School, where he taught classes about the brewing process, quality assurance, and extolled the power of beer across the USA. Mark then turned his attention to the exciting and competitive craft beer world as he joined Great Lakes Brewing Co.(Cleveland, OH) as Regional Marketing Manager. During his 10 years with the company, Mark developed and grew the brand across the Mid-Atlantic, New York, and Washington D.C.
For the past three years, Mark served as Director of Sales at Sly Fox Brewing Co. where he was instrumental in the brand refresh, new beer styles, and growing the sales team, footprint, and distribution with 17 east coast distributors.
While in his athletic prime, Mark played Division 1 soccer at Boston College before studying environmental economics and policies in Berlin, Germany with Duke University. He graduated Cum Laude from University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
